About Our Client
Our client has a well-earned reputation in Civil and Structural Engineering. As the former British Rail Design Group they have considerable skills in railway bridges, stations and other civil engineering works in a railway environment. They undertake feasibility studies, scheme designs and detailed designs for all types of railway structure.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to manage and further develop our Civil & Structural Engineering team in Plymouth. This is a challenging role involving the design and assessment of bridges and other structures for railway projects and you will need to demonstrate experience of leading and developing a similar team. You will be responsible for meeting agreed business targets and for creating, developing and managing business opportunities in the areas of civil and structural engineering.
About You
Essential Skills/Experience Required:
· Chartered Engineer (MICE or MIStructE)
· Proven experience of bridge design and assessment, preferably involving railway bridges
· Proven team leader experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Skills/Experience Required:
· Educated to degree level or equivalent
· General railway civil engineering experience
· Experience of structural analysis software
· Enthusiastic about developing technical expertise
· Strong commercial awareness
· Good project management expertise
