Reel Scary Halloween Event
Fearless paranormal investigators from Haunted Devon are hoping to raise ghosts and money for Children in Need at Plymouth's Reel cinema this Halloween. Members of the public are invited to join them and a team of celebrity psychics for what promises to be an unforgettable ghostly encounter on the 31st of October.
“Psychic Rock” Gavin Cromwell (“US TV hit - T.A.P.S”, “OK Magazine”, “My Life as a Psychic”) will accompany Astrologer Sara Delphi (BBC Radio 2’s “Steve Wright Show”, Talk sport Radio’s “Mike Mendoza Show” and BBC Radio Devon) as they lead teams into the darkest, scariest corners of the building.
The Reel at Derry's Cross is believed to be built on a French Prisoner of War graveyard and is said to have had its fair share of hauntings. Spirits have been seen throughout the building by visitors and staff and some witnesses are convinced they've been pinched by unseen hands.
Byron Jackson, a spokesperson for Haunted Devon, is looking forward to an eventful night. "As a group, Haunted Devon is always looking for ways of promoting tourism in Devon and raising money for local charities. We investigated the Reel Cinema last year and we know that it is very active - there are many layers of history to the building and strange things happen there. I take a more scientific approach to the paranormal but I've seen and heard things there late at night that I just can't explain. It’s not often we get access to a fantastic building like this on Halloween night with such an amazing team of investigators. I wouldn’t miss this one for the world and if you want to come along you definitely need to prepare for the unexpected."
Haunted Devon has chosen BBC Children in Need as this year’s charity and has thrown down the gauntlet to a team of BBC South West presenters to join them for the investigation. Rumour has it that Pudsey Bear is too frightened to come, although Byron has offered to hold his paw all night.
Byron says the team also needs help from some "armchair paranormal detectives" at home. "We hope to stream some of our footage live to our website www.haunted-devon.co.uk - your donations will be make a big difference. We would also like to thank the managers at REEL for welcoming us back – we know it’s going to be a great night."
For a small donation to Children in Need there are still places available for the Halloween investigation. For the paranormal experience of a lifetime please contact Haunted Devon by email at reelscary@haunted-devon.co.uk or visit their website at www.haunted-devon.co.uk for further details.
