Have you always wanted to be able to play the guitar, but don’t think you’re musical?
Well, the good news for you is that that was me many years ago. My sister was the musical one and I just didn’t think I had it in me. I’m 37 and have been playing the guitar for roughly 17 years now. I’m currently the lead guitarist in a new band venture.
I’m self-taught, although I did have a couple of guitar lessons when I started out. I learn’t nothing from my first teacher, he just sat there and showed me what he could play. I’m just starting out teaching. I’ve taught a few friends how to play and they’ve all said that I’m very good at it and should teach others. They’ve said I’m good at explaining complex musical terminology, in an easy understandable way to anyone.
If there is anything you don’t fully understand, we will stay at it until you’ve got it!
From my own experience of taking lessons and teaching friends, I believe I can teach anyone to play the guitar.
My lessons are aimed at beginners or people who can play a few chords, but would like to take it further. I play blues, rock and pop, and can go into any of these areas with you in detail, although a lot of what I can teach you is applicable to any form of music. The lessons will be structured so that you’ll learn guitar fundamentals, music theory and how to play recognisable songs straight away!
I’m offering a first taster lesson at £5 for an hour, thereafter £15 per hour.
I conduct the lessons from my home. I live just off St Levan road, Stoke. It may be possible that I could come to you if you’re not too far away.
I should also state that I do not teach anyone under the age of 18.
